Key Metrics

What the Operations System Measures

Operations metrics measure the health of your business infrastructure and your capacity to deliver reliably as the business grows.

  • Process completion rate, the proportion of operational tasks completed on time and to the required standard across all active processes
  • Bottleneck frequency, how often specific processes are creating delays or requiring exception handling that consumes unplanned founder time
  • Task turnaround time, average time from initiation to completion across your core operational processes
  • Automation coverage, the proportion of recurring processes handled by systems and tools rather than manual founder effort
  • Delivery quality, client satisfaction and outcome quality for completed work, measured consistently over time

Building Systems, Not Just Completing Tasks

The Operations System distinguishes between completing tasks and systematising processes. Completing a task once requires your personal effort once. Building a repeatable process for it means the next twenty times it happens require significantly less of your effort and attention.

The system tracks automation coverage and process documentation as indicators of operational maturity alongside task completion rates. A business that runs reliably only because of the founder's personal involvement every day is operationally fragile. The score reflects the degree to which processes are genuinely systematised.
